Over 81,000 Posts Recruitments in UP Police

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced plans to recruit over 81,000 personnel in the UP Police during the financial year 2026-27. This major recruitment drive, confirmed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, aims to fill vacancies across key positions while strengthening law and order and creating employment opportunities for the state’s youth.

Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) will conduct the recruitments. The announcement came during a high-level review meeting of police department units. Recruitment Process: Four Phases with Strict Timeline

The UPPRPB has been directed to conduct all direct recruitments in a time-bound manner across four phases:

1. Written Examination (technology-based and transparent)
2. Physical Efficiency Test
3. Document Verification
4. Medical Examination

CM Yogi instructed that the entire process must maintain complete transparency, fairness, and adherence to reservation rules.

Recent UP Police Recruitments and Context

UP Police has seen significant hiring in recent years. In the past year alone, around 60,244 constables were recruited (including over 12,000 women). This 81,000+ drive for 2026-27 continues the momentum to modernize the force and boost employment.
