IIT-JEE Main Syllabus 2025 Updated –
The IIT JEE (Indian Institutes of Technology Joint Entrance Examination) is a prestigious entrance examination conducted in India. It is the gateway for admission to undergraduate engineering programs (B.Tech) at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other centrally funded technical institutions (CFTIs) across India.
JEE Main Syllabus 2025
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Main syllabus for 2025 with some new updates and revisions. The new syllabus is based on the latest NCERT textbooks for Class 11 and 12.
Physics:
- Mechanics: Laws of motion, work, energy, power, rotational motion, gravitation, mechanics of solids and fluids.
- Electricity and Magnetism: Electrostatics, current electricity, magnetic effects of current, electromagnetic induction, alternating currents, electromagnetic waves.
- Optics: Geometrical optics, wave optics.
- Modern Physics: Atomic physics, nuclear physics, semiconductor devices, particles and waves.
Chemistry:
- Physical Chemistry: Basic concepts of chemistry, states of matter, atomic structure, chemical bonding and molecular structure, chemical thermodynamics, solutions, equilibrium, electrochemistry, chemical kinetics.
- Organic Chemistry: Purification and characterization of organic compounds, types of organic reactions, stereochemistry, biomolecules, chemistry in everyday life.
- Inorganic Chemistry: Classification of elements and periodicity in properties, hydrogen, s-block elements, p-block elements, d and f block elements, coordination compounds.
Mathematics:
- Algebra: Complex numbers, quadratic equations, sequences and series, permutations and combinations, binomial theorem, matrices and determinants, mathematical induction.
- Trigonometry: Trigonometric functions and equations, properties of triangles, heights and distances.
- Analytical Geometry: Straight lines, circles, conic sections.
- Differential Calculus: Limits, continuity and differentiability, derivatives, applications of derivatives.
- Integral Calculus: Integrals, definite integrals, applications of integrals.
- Vectors and 3D Geometry: Vectors, three-dimensional geometry.
Common Sections:
- Aptitude Test: Logical reasoning, graphical analysis, puzzles, and numerical reasoning.
- English Language: Grammar, comprehension.
Important Points:
- The syllabus is extensive and requires a deep understanding of fundamental concepts.
- Regular practice and solving previous years’ papers are crucial for success.
- Each subject is equally important, and a balanced approach to studying all subjects is recommended.

Part I | Awareness of persons, places, buildings, materials. Objects, texture related to architecture and build—environment. Visualising three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional drawings. Visualising different sides of three-dimensional objects. Analytical reasoning mental ability (Visual, numerical and verbal). |
Part II | Three-dimensional perception: Understanding and appreciation of scale and proportion of objects, building forms and elements, colour texture, harmony and contrast. Design and drawing of geometrical or abstract shapes and patterns in pencil. Transformation of forms, both 2D and 3D union, subtraction, rotation, development of surfaces and volumes, Generation of plan, elevations and 3D views of objects.
