Eligible MBBS/MD/MS/DNB candidates registered with the Telangana State Medical Council can appear for a Walk-In Interview on 15-09-2026, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, at the Office of the Director, GMC Mahabubnagar, Edira Campus, Thirulmalla Hills. There is no online or postal application process for this recruitment.

GMC Mahabubnagar has announced 149 vacancies across 22 departments for Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor, plus separately notified Tutor and Junior Resident posts. GMC Mahabubnagar Eligibility Criteria 2026

Eligibility follows the Teachers Eligibility Qualifications In Medical Institutions Regulations, 2025, of the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Outside-state candidates must get their qualification registered with the Telangana State Medical Council within one week of selection, for their appointment to be confirmed.

GMC Mahabubnagar Age Limit

• Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor: below 69 years, as on the day of notification
• Tutor and Junior Resident (referred to as “CAS and Tutors” in the selection-criteria clause): below 45 years, as on the day of notification

GMC Mahabubnagar Salary / Consolidated Pay

Selected faculty will be paid a fixed consolidated monthly remuneration as per G.O. Rt. No. 1276, Finance (HRM.VII) Department, dated 16 July 2026. The remuneration is all-inclusive and subject to tax deduction at source and other statutory deductions.

GMC Mahabubnagar Selection Process

• Marks obtained in the MD/MS/DNB PG degree for Assistant Professor posts; marks obtained in MBBS for Tutor and Junior Resident posts (if marks are not awarded in the qualifying exam, 50% marks will be considered)
• For Professor and Associate Professor posts, duration of teaching experience in that cadre is considered
• DNB candidates will be selected as per the latest TEQ Regulations 2025 of the NMC
• Selection is nationwide, with first preference given to local candidates; candidates from other states will be considered if local candidates are not available
• Candidates due to complete Senior Residency in the first week of December 2026 are eligible, if qualified candidates are otherwise unavailable

• Aadhar Card and PAN Card
• Proof of Date of Birth (SSC certificate or Birth certificate)
• Study/Bonafide certificates, Class 4 to Class 10
• MBBS and MD/MS/DNB Degree certificates, with marks memos of MBBS and MD/MS/DNB/MSc
• MBBS Registration from Telangana/AP Medical Council, and additional PG qualification registration with Telangana State Medical Council only (applications without this registration will be rejected; outside-state candidates must register within one week of selection)

How to Attend the GMC Mahabubnagar Walk-In Interview

1. Download the application form from the official website, www.gmcmbnr-ts.org.
2. Fill the application form completely and attach two sets of self-attested photocopies of all required documents.
3. Report to the Office of the Director, Government Medical College, Mahabubnagar, Edira Campus, Thirulmalla Hills, on 15-09-2026, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
4. Carry all original certificates along with the filled application and photocopies for verification.
5. Attend the interview. Results will be declared on 17-09-2026, and selected candidates must join duty by 30-09-2026.

There is no online or postal application process for this recruitment – candidates must appear in person on the interview date.

GMC Mahabubnagar Recruitment 2026 – Important Instructions

• This is a purely temporary contract appointment up to 31-03-2027, or till vacancies are filled by promotion/regular appointment, whichever is earlier; it does not confer any right to future government appointment.
• Selected faculty are eligible for 15 days of leave per calendar year, on a cumulative basis.
• If a selected candidate does not join, the next eligible merit candidate will be selected.
• Selected candidates must submit a bond on Rs. 100 stamp paper, duly notarized, to the Director, GMC Mahabubnagar. Breaking the bond requires paying 3 months’ salary.
• A candidate wishing to terminate the contract must give one month’s prior notice.
• Candidates already working at another Government Medical College in Telangana must obtain an NOC from that college at the time of interview, and produce a relieving order at the time of joining.
• The contract is liable to be terminated at any time, without assigning any reason.
• The engaged faculty will be at the disposal of the institute on a whole-time basis, and services may be utilized in any manner required by the Competent Authority without additional remuneration claims.
• The decision of the selection committee is final and binding.
