Salary
- Selected candidates engaged as Apprentices shall undergo apprenticeship training for a period of one year and will be paid a stipend at the prescribed rate during the training period, as per As per extant rules & directives issued by Railway Board from time to time.

- Minimum Age: 15 Years

Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 Years
- OBC: 3 Years
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 10 Years
- Ex-Servicemen: Upper age limit relaxed by an additional 10 years plus the length of military service rendered, and an additional 3 years, provided they have completed a minimum of 6 months continuous service in the Defence Forces. This relaxation does not apply to Ex-Servicemen who have already secured employment in a civil post under the Government after availing Ex-Servicemen status.
- An Ex-Serviceman selected under the reservation quota will be placed in the appropriate category (UR/SC/ST/OBC) to which he belongs.
- Ex-Servicemen, their children, and the children of Armed Forces personnel shall be considered for apprenticeship engagement under the following categories:
- Children of deceased or disabled Ex-Servicemen, including those who were killed or disabled during peacetime.
- Children of Ex-Servicemen.
- Children of serving Jawans.
- Children of serving Officers.
- Ex-Servicemen.
Important Dates
Selection Process
- Merit list based on the average of the percentage of marks obtained in both Matriculation (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) and the ITI examination, with equal weightage given to both.
- In the event of two or more applicants securing the same marks, preference will be given to the older candidate. If the dates of birth are also identical, the candidate who passed the Matriculation examination earlier will be given priority.
- There will be no written test or viva.
How to Apply
Applicants are required to apply online by visiting www.rrc-wr.com. Detailed instructions for filling out the online application will be available on the website.
(a) Applicants are required to fill in their personal details, trade, Aadhaar number, marks/CGPA, and choice of Divisions/Workshopsetc. very carefully, as the computerized merit list will be generated solely based on the information provided in the online application. In case any discrepancy is found during document verification, the applicant shall be summarily disqualified.
(b) Though, separate slots for Stenographer(English) & PAASA are notified for Mumbai Central Division & HQ office, candidates applying for Mumbai Division and Headquarters Office will be considered through a common application. No separate application is required for Mumbai Division and Headquarters Office.
Applicants must be in possession of an Aadhaar Card. At the time of registration, they are required to enter their 12-digit Aadhaar number. Applicants who have enrolled for Aadhaar but have not yet received the Aadhaar Card may enter the 28-digit Aadhaar Enrolment ID as printed on the Aadhaar Enrolment Slip.
This provision is applicable to applicants from all States and Union Territories. At the time of Document Verification, applicants are required to produce their original Aadhaar Card.
Applicants must ensure that their name, father’s name, and date of birth exactly match the details recorded in their Matriculation or equivalent certificate. Any discrepancy found during Document Verification may result in cancellation of candidature and also debarment.
Applicants are advised to provide their active mobile number and valid email ID in the online application and ensure that both remain operational throughout the entire engagement process. All important notifications will be published on the official website, and email/SMS communications will be sent only to the selected applicants. Such communications shall be deemed to have been read by the applicants.
Applicants are permitted to choose only one Division/Workshop. The option once exercised shall be final and binding on the applicant. Applicants are advised to carefully refer to the trade-wise vacancy table (Annexure A) to verify the vacancies notified and ensure that the Division/Workshop they wish to apply for has available vacancies corresponding to their trade, qualification, community, and category.
Applicants possessing ITI qualifications in more than one trade may apply separately for each relevant trade.
Applicants attempting to submit more than one application for the same trade using different particulars such as Name, Father’s Name, Community, PWD status, educational and/or technical qualifications, or different Email IDs/Mobile Numbers are hereby informed that all such applications will be summarily rejected.
Applicants are required to download and retain a printout of their online application, which must be produced whenever requested by the Railway Administration.
Applicants are required to report for Document/Certificate Verification with their original documents, along with the Medical Fitness Certificate (Annexure-G), at the designated Division/Workshop/Unit.
Applicants claiming consideration under the EWS quota are required to upload their EWS Certificate, as specified in Para 2.7.
